In the Shadow of a Volcano

Mt. Shasta has been considered a spiritual place for hundreds of years. Go there and you'll know why. I don't consider myself a spiritual guy, but I have to admit that at over 14,000 feet Mt. Shasta does seem to be a force to be reckoned with. This picture was taken at about 4,500 feet on March 6, 2005. The weather was as good as it looks, or better. But earlier in the season I was skiing in the Sierra Nevada in one of the largest storms of the season (see pic at right). The point is, you never know what you're going to get.
